NetBase
Client at a Glance
- Programming interface
for MPE coexistence
- Access MPE files and
TurboIMAGE databases from UNIX and PC applications
- Access remote files
without remote logons, reducing OS licensing
Supported
Clients
- Sun Workstations and Servers
- HP 9000 Series
- IBM PCs and compatibles
running DOS, Window (NT, 95, 3.x)
- SCO UNIX
NetBase Client provides a
critical link between MPE environments and other platforms, a link that
allows newer technologies to be deployed, and cooperate with existing
applications and data repositories.
NetBase Client consists of complete Application Program Interfaces (APIs)
that give UNIX, DOS, Windows, Windows NT and Windows 95 client/server
applications read and write access to data residing in MPE files, KSAM
files and TurboIMAGE databases on HP 3000 computers. By using the NetBase
Client APIs with Oracle, Informix, Sybase, COBOL, Microfocus, Excel, Visual
Basic, PowerBuilder, or any of the other DOS/UNIX/Windows tools available,
your IS staff can quickly implement applications that are tightly integrated
with existing HP 3000 systems
TurboIMAGE
Support
Provides API access to TurboIMAGE databases using same
interface and functionality as the TurboIMAGE intrinsics residing on the
HP 3000.
- Permits APIs to be linked
into any application that allows "C" procedure calls, including
all popular 3GL and 4GL languages available for DOS, UNIX, Windows,
Windows NT and Windows 95.
- Uses proven caching algorithms
that guarantee data integrity while dramatically increasing throughput
Server Features
- Provides APIs
to access MPE and KSAM files on HP 3000s from HP-UX, SCO UNIX,
SUN, AIX, DOS, Windows, Windows NT and Windows 95 applications.
- Supports remote
file access without remote logons, greatly reducing the user-license
fees necessary to run your application.
- Supports QUERY/UX
enabling UNIX users to access HP 3000 TurboIMAGE databases in
the same way as HP 3000âs QUERY.
