NDMP APM Datasheet (325 Kb) NDMP Product Brochure (688 Kb) NDMP APM Implementation Guide for EMC's CLARiiON IP4700 (1.1 MB) NDMP APM Implementation Guide for Network Appliance (1.0 MB) NetVault APM User's Guide (2.1 MB) Information is a growing and priceless asset for all organizations. Network Appliance filers are the most widely accepted network attached storage (NAS) devices on the market. With the growing number of NDMP-based networks, comes the critical need to backup and restore data with the same efficiency while still having little or no impact on users. Maximizing the benefits of NDMP to enhance the backup performance, NetVaults NDMP for Application Plugin Module (APM) leverages the data transfer over the network, while maintaining centralized backup administration, and providing fast, online backup and restore of data. Available for UNIX, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Linux, the APM provides a full-featured solution for NetApp filer's including local backup, automation control, direct access restores, and Dynamically Shared Drives. Central Management and Control of Highly Distributed Data: With NetVaults NDMP APM, simplify control of NAS environments with a common backup and restore solution that provides centralized management via an interactive GUI. Multiple Backup Configuration Options: Increase network availability by redirecting backups to a variety of backup configuration options including local backup to a filer, filer to filer data transfers, filer to a NetVault server or a NetVault server/client to filer, and dynamically shared tape devices in a NAS/SAN environment. Data Protection in a Mixed Server Environment of UNIX, Windows NT, Linux operating systems: Enjoy seamless interoperability with heterogeneous server configurations. Dynamic Drive Sharing Capabilities: Minimize backup time by sharing tape device resources over multiple servers. Dynamic Drive Sharing allows you to maximize your investments and reduce idle devices by distributing data across all of the available backup devices. Direct Access Restores: Direct Access Recovery provides faster recovery of a single file or subset of files. When files are backed up, the location is recorded. At restore time, this information can be used to position the exact location of the file on the media rather than reading sequentially through the whole backup. Fast Indexing of Backup: Optimize your backups with selectable index options. Enhanced options include writing the index to media or the NetVault database after a backup completes.
